Dear Friend
and Neighbor: Did you know that the East Granby Land Trust is one of the largest landowners in town, owning over 264 acres? Did you know that all of the land owned by the Land Trust is intended to be preserved in its natural state forever, for conservation and environmental purposes and for passive recreational use and learning experiences by you and the children of the community? Did you know that, among its parcels, are portions of the priceless Metacomet Trail and acreage abutting the Newgate Wildlife Management area on both ends, contributing to the largest preserve of natural space in town and one of the larger in the region?
While this is a tremendous accomplishment the Land Trust
board feels that to be truly successful a local land
trust should be measured not just in acres protected but
in the amount of local support it attains. We call on
all residents interested in the great outdoors to
consider becoming a member and helping us to be
successful. For a small
membership
fee (you can donate more) you will enable us to maintain
the land and publicize its potential recreational uses
to town residents. Please send your name and address
along with your membership fee to the “East Granby Land
Trust, Inc.” at PO Box 39, East Granby, CT 06026. Sincerely, East Granby Land Trust. You may contact the EG Land Trust at: jjdippel@sbcglobal.net |
